Eric Torres was born in Costa Rica and developed a passion for music at an early age, inspired and motivated by his father, Marcos Torres, lead singer of the orchestra “Saint Francis.”

Eric became a popular singer after being invited to perform as the lead singer of “Los Hicsos” in Costa Rica. After two successful years with the group, he went on to perform with “La Empresa.” His recording of “Latino Soy” became a number-one hit in Costa Rica, followed by several other recordings and albums.

Eric later decided to expand his career and moved to Los Angeles, CA as a professional singer. His first performance was at the “Costa Rica Restaurant” with Fernando Echandi, who became an important influence in his career and encouraged him to develop his versatility by performing different styles and levels of music.

In 1995, Eric joined the salsa band “Latin Fusion,” now known as “Orquesta Tabaco y Ron,” as lead singer. During this period, he developed his own style of romantic salsa and worked with many talented musicians. He also recorded as a backup singer for well-known salsa artists including Domingo Quiñones, Johnny Rivera, Kevin Ceballo, Tito Nieves, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Celia Cruz, among others.

Eric continued to expand his musical abilities by developing his repertoire in English and Italian. His versatility and distinctive voice led to recording opportunities for radio and television commercials for companies such as AT&T, Carl’s Jr., Toyota and others. During this period, he also performed as a backup singer for artists including Alvaro Torres, Ricardo Montaner, Tito Nieves, Emmanuel, Carlos Ponce, Obie Bermúdez, Marc Anthony and Joan Sebastian.

In 2004, Eric took another important step in his career by recording his own CD, “TU CARIÑO SE ME VA,” released in October 2004 at Ecuasound Studios under the supervision of Ivan Castro, a close friend and manager.

Today, Eric continues to perform at private events, senior centers, celebrations and a wide variety of venues, bringing more than 50 years of professional experience, versatility and a passion for connecting with his audience.
